Game style

Rhythm

The song is the level, and you are judged in hundredths of a second.

Every other game asks where you are. A rhythm game only ever asks when you pressed. The music sets the pace whether you are ready or not, standing in the right place counts for nothing, and the difference between a good player and a great one is measured in milliseconds.

The rules

  • The song controls the pace. You cannot rush it or slow it down.
  • Input is judged on timing, not on position.
  • The level is a chart: a list of notes, each with a moment it is due.
  • Accuracy and a combo are the score. There is nothing to dodge.

Games like this: Guitar Hero, Friday Night Funkin', Beat Saber.
